Italy split into northern and southern part?

With the new economic crisis there is more chance to see Italy split into northern and southern part? What about Sicily or Sardinia getting independence? Or Corsica to become a region of Italy?

A possible future:

  5. France will for sure never change anything beside "Corse" maybe but never Bretagne or give something to italy, they will probably take something to italy instead and you forgot monaco on the map.

    1. Because of Italy's increase of poverty and economical crisis, Italy may split to Padania (north), Italy (south), and Sicily.

  8. Italy remaining united (except South Tyrol) for so long? With the Lega standing at more than 20% in Lombardia and Veneto even today? Even attracting Savoy and Ticino before splitting up?

  9. Why did not Dalamatia and Istria join Northern Italy?

    1. Well,I am an Istrian, sir.Istrians fought the Italians in WWI and WWII.Our language of slavic was banned by the Italians in 1926 and they colonized us and wanted to destroy our culture. Both Istria and Dalmatia are now part of croatia and I hope Italy never rules us again!!

    2. Istria was inabhited by italians during WWI and WWII, so I have no clue of how you can say that Istria fought the italians during this wars. The fact is that Tito killed thousand of Italians and expropriated them of their house and land when the war was finished against all international laws. get your fact straight

  10. Northern Italy does not have a independence movement. Reason they would separate are purely financial

  11. If any part of Italy were to secede, it would be Sardinia; most Sicilians are proud to be Italian. Sardinians tend to prefer Sardinia.

  12. I don't think Italy will be devided or Sicilia independent, but I hope that Occitania, Valencia, Sardinia and balear islands will.

    Good video, and great imagination!

    1. as well as around the world, the islands must be independent. On behalf of all the oppressed people of the world, sardinians fight against brutality and colonialism of europeans. a fora sos colonialistas

  14. Sicily wasn't before a part of Italy, but now they aren't independent. I don't think they wan't to be independent again

  15. Maybe, but southern France can't go to Italy. We in Marseille and Toulon don't speak Italian.

  16. I don't think that Switzerland would become part of Italy. If anything it would be the other way around.

  17. If you introduce more economic factors in your forecast, then you could justify the split of Italy by economic reasons. If public opinion is fueled by populist parties in the context of a severe economic crisis, then I guess you have a point. With enough propaganda, Southern Italy may want to split just as strongly as the Northern Italy.

  19. No way, I was born in Sicily! Sicily deserves independence but splitting Italy, no chance!

  20. venice is supposed to have an independence referendum this year or next year

  21. Probally Italy will split in North and South Italy in the next few years but the border will be located farther south. Sicily will not be indipendent again... About the southern france... I don' think it' ll pass under the italian jurisdiction although the Corsica could. South Tyrol will remain part of Italy. The Switzerland won' t pass to Italy however if you analyze the Italian history there are few chances that Italy gain a little part of Croatia and Slovenia.

  22. Sicily, Corsica, and Sardinia will all be autonomous islands. Or, perhaps they will form a sort of confederation.

  23. Check this out: www.cantonmarittimo.com
It's a movement that is promoting the indipendence of Sardinia by democratic expression and its subsequent adhesion to the Helvetic Confederation.
You might as well correct the map making Sardinia yellow with Switzerland.
